The 22nd edition of the Create a Smile Marathon concluded successfully at midnight on Sunday, July 14th, raising an impressive total of €445,385. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of countless individuals who have been preparing for this event for months, ensuring a high-quality marathon with participation from numerous presenters, singers, and volunteers.
Over the course of the three-day marathon, volunteers contributed in various capacities, including answering telephones, collecting donations, and providing food and drinks to participants and attendees. Their collective efforts were essential to the marathon’s success.
We also extend our gratitude to the many behind-the-scenes professionals whose contributions ensured the high-quality media coverage of the event. Their professionalism and dedication were crucial to the marathon’s success.
A special thanks goes to Fr. Louis Mallia and the young MSSP priests who brought additional energy and spirit to the marathon. Their involvement was invaluable.
The outpouring of love and support from viewers and the many people who came to St. Joseph’s House to make donations for the Maltese missionaries in Peru, Pakistan, and the Philippines, as well as for the children in the House of Saint Joseph, was truly heartwarming. This year’s marathon has provided substantial support for these missions and the daily aid they offer to those in need.
We also express our gratitude to God and to Joseph De Piro, the founder of the Missionary Society of St. Paul. Although he was unable to go on missions himself, his vision and desire for his fellow priests to continue Saint Paul’s legacy of evangelization and social work with the poorest of the poor live on through these efforts.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s Create a Smile Marathon. Your support is making a significant difference in the lives of many.
